Senator ‘Yar’adua’s Wife Empowers Women

The Wife of the Senator representing Katsina Central Senatorial District Hajia Binta Abdul’aziz Yar’adua has followed the footsteps of her husband in empowering 100 women within the Senatorial District to assist them become self-reliant.

The items include Sewing and Knitting machines which were distributed to women under her Foundation ( Binta Mutawalle Charity and Empowerment Foundation) at Old Government House Katsina.

The Wife of the Senator who was represented at the occasion by Hajia Rabi’atu Abba Umar said the Foundation was established to assist women and youth to acquire skills and empower them to be self-reliant.

Hajia Binta Abdul’aziz Yar’adua explained that the effort was just the beginning as more empowerments are on the way, adding that the government alone can not take such a burden hence the need for elected officials and other politicians to join hands with the government towards fighting restiveness.

She charged beneficiaries to ensure that they utilise the items as expected of them up to the stage of training others.

Chairman of the Foundation Alhaji Isah Surajo Isah stated that the Foundation will continue to scout for women and youth across the District for the empowerment gesture and expressed hope that the beneficiaries will use the items objectively.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation by thanking the Wife of the Senator for the gesture and pledged to utilise the items accordingly.
